I switched from rtx 3070 and ryzen 5 5600x
On rtx 4070 super and ryzen 7 5700x3d and performance massive In every game minimum 100fps+
I play mostly Fortnite and from 150-180fps I suddenly had 700fps
I was trying to decide between the Asus TUF and Gigabyte Gaming variant, and this seemed like the better option due to being not that much louder than Asus but slightly cooler and at a higher factory OC. The main point was Asus being more prone to coil whine. This unit had no coil whine that I could detect with my 850w ATX 3.1 PSU
I chose the card as a successor to the RTX Gigabyte 3070, which unfortunately went to silicon heaven. Unlike the previous model, I went for a higher series (Gaming OC) with better cooling. The price for another 4070 could be significantly higher, but the requirement was clear: excellent cooling, low temperatures, silence. The card fulfills everything perfectly. The only problem I had with the ASUS ROG Strix B550-i Gaming motherboard was when the image suddenly turned black (under load and without) and then the PC restarted after a few seconds. After trying many times what could be causing this I had to flash the BIOS on the motherboard and since then the problem has not occurred.
It might be useful for someone to know that I am running VGA on a PC with 650W Gold + cert. source and is fully sufficient (I was also deciding whether to switch to 700W+).
I also tried the Asus Dual and Gainward Ghost, which were crappy compared to the Gigabyte Gaming (temperatures, noise). With this card, I feel it has quality for the price.
The performance is great.
The price is terrible for a mid range card, but such are the times.
Only 12 gb of memory. In the end I decided to still buy the higher end 4070 ti super to make my pc build more future proof. But for those who just need a 4070 super, this model is a great choice.
We've tested a bunch of cards from Nv and AMD and this one didn't squeak. Performance ok card is quiet and runs as it should.
