Although I initially had my doubts about whether three fans were necessary for the weakest model, I have to admit that they have their advantages. Even when the graphics chip is fully loaded, temperatures do not exceed 60°C, with fans operating in the range of 1500-1600 rpm.
In terms of gaming performance, this card is fully sufficient for gaming in Full HD resolution. Its 8GB of memory provides plenty of space for modern titles, yet the card doesn't make full use of it in practice.
I am not a fan of artificial (fake) image generation using DLSS, but I have to admit that it has its advantages. If you're playing a new and poorly optimized game, this technology can greatly improve the smoothness.
Quiet even at full load
Solid "Backplate" which does not allow the card to sag
The card has a highly efficient cooling system, which is basically useless considering the performance it has. The only thing cooling is good for is if you want your computer to be quiet.
great cooling
very quiet
automatic shutdown of fans when they are not needed
RGB gigabyte logo
metal plate on the back side
price
only 8GB, for this price I would expect at least 12GB of memory
gigabyte control center app looks terrible and can do almost nothing
I don't use the card for gaming, but for photo processing (AI denoising). The performance is sufficient and it is not noisy during normal operation, unlike models with only two fans.
Excellent cooling
Silent mode
Low consumption
GIGABYTE Control Center should not be installed at all
Temperatures at maximum load do not exceed 65 degrees and that's in OC mode!
One of the better crafted RTX 4060s, hence the price of course: 09/23 - 8600kč, you have to pay a little extra for quality
Metal backplate, decent RGB logo on the side
Only 40mm/two-slot height, the card is not massively large, just a bit longer
Perfectly sufficient for FullHD gaming at full detail. If it limps along in a year/two in performance, we have the awesome DLSS3 or FidelityFX
Thanks to the great cooling, it is absolutely noiseless and up to about 55 degrees the fans don't even spin, after that it is still almost inaudible!
I wouldn't worry about the PCE 8x instead of 16x and only 128bit bus, the card does what it should and does it quite well: )
In summary, the excellent operating characteristics, from cooling, to noise level, to the superbly low power consumption, are a pretty good reason to buy this 4060.
RTX effects aren't really adequate for this card, yes, with some setup and fiddling you can achieve what you want, but simply RTX would only properly make sense at 4070 and above. This is not always true, of course, but there are games where RayTracing is very challenging
The price of 8600 as of 9/23 is sure to discourage a lot of people from reaching for the cheaper 4060 variants
AMD RX 7600 has basically the same performance and a more interesting gift in the form of the game Starfield, moreover, it's all about 1500kč cheaper.
Only 8GB of VRAM, it is slowly becoming a necessary minimum, but I can still hopefully hold out with this. At least 10/12GB would be better.
