Mesh I think was not in the original firmware that the AP was shipped with. You must upgrade to version 2 or higher. I've only tried one AP, so I couldn't judge how well it works anyway. It is also interesting to add that according to the manufacturer, the power consumption at rest is 6W, maximum 12W.
strong signal = good coverage within an open area. Take into account that two concrete walls can't handle it anymore and you need more APs

the supplied instructions on how to get started were rather basic, but there's not much to go wrong
the settings options in the web interface are rather basic and you can't set much. For home environment probably ok, for business it can be a problem

OpenWrt is not yet supported, but support seems to be on the way, then most software restrictions would hopefully fall away.
in WISP mode, the 2.5Gbit port is considered as WAN, and cannot be reconfigured to LAN
