The original 16GB (2×8GB) of RAM in Windows 11 began to prove insufficient, particularly in 2025, when Windows itself, following its two major updates, multiplied its RAM usage(from the original 3.8GB, system usage rose to approximately 9GB), and the laptop began to experience micro-lags even when launching less demanding programmes. Since upgrading my laptop with these memory modules, it now boots up almost as quickly as it did a year after I bought it (now around 27 seconds to the login screen, and since February this year – compared to the period from 2021 to April 2025 – I’ve also had a full second 2TB NVMe SSD drive, yet the boot time remains roughly the same; whereas after the spring W11 update in 2025 the time was around 35 seconds and after the autumn W11 update in 2025 it was 42 seconds; (in a clean state after upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, the fastest time was 22 seconds). It now has sufficient storage capacity for both Windows 11 itself and for more demanding programmes and games. The maximum capacity specified and tested by the manufacturer for my laptop (manufactured in April 2021) is 2 × 8 GB → 16 GB of RAM in total. These memory modules have been running at full capacity without any restrictions for almost 7 months of continuous operation (approximately 170 days out of a total of 198 days since installation to date, with approximately 30–40 per cent of the total time spent at full capacity, with regular restarts every 2–3 days, up to a maximum of 10 days) and no faults have been detected so far.
a lower price whilst maintaining high quality standards
Sufficient capacity even for more demanding conditions
During the seven months of almost non-stop daily use, no issues have been identified so far.
The PC started to pant after switching to W11 with 8GB RAM and after changing to 32GB it runs beautifully.
