The plates themselves clean quite well, but there are lots of about 1mm thick, deep crevices around them where the cheese/ketchup(. ) immediately leak and are terribly difficult to clean. If you're making "dry" toast, you'll probably be happy, but if you like toast with cheese, I recommend looking for something else. I wouldn't buy it again.
