I switched to the R50 from a 200d SLR. It' s a good choice for me. I take pictures of nature, monuments, architecture, considering the compactness of the device, it' s great. I was deciding between R50, R10 and RP. The R50 won it, also because of the price, I was buying the body itself, I use a reduction for EF lenses which works great. The Digic X processor is excellent - excellent recognition of photographed objects. Silent shutter option. I recommend buying a spare battery if you don' t already have one from a previous model, as in my case.
