The manual states how long (6–14mm) and how wide (11.4mm) the staples (type 53) and nails (only 14mm) can be, but nowhere does it say that you need to use only official Bosch staples made of thin (but strong) wire (0.74mm). If you buy thicker ones (1mm, 1.2mm, etc.) in H. or O., the stapler can't push them through the narrow opening and they start to twist and jam inside. On the other hand, if you buy cheaper ones from Alza, they get damaged when you apply more force on harder materials.
