I also used the bottom part for baking pizza - I have nothing to complain about either. Before first use, the baking pan needs to be properly fired according to the instructions - I used oil spray and fired both parts gradually at 250 degrees. The inside gained shine and perhaps even non-stick - but I have not tested this - I bake everything on baking paper. I baked bread in a glass baking dish for years - cast iron is much better.
