1. The device must support OTG (very cheap and old devices may not) 2. Lots of people complain about speed. Speed is determined by the weakest link. This means that if you are using a cheap device (typically under 15 000 CZK) they often have a USB 2.0 controller. Its bus can realistically do 0.3 to 0.39 Gbit/s. If you use the right device with USB 3. - so its bus will go at least 4 Gbit, which means that the LAN will go theoretically unlimited speed of 1Gbit/s - realistically a little less (of course, depending on the speed limitations of the Internet or network) 3. The fact that only charging or lan is running indicates that something is set wrong in the system (OTG settings). Or you are probably not using a proper PD standard charger with power for your device + 10W reserve for the network card. I recommend plugging the charging into the network card first and then into the device.
