The fan is said to have an oscillation function; the front grille is supposed to move. That’s why there’s a switch with six speed settings – three normal and three with oscillation. Upon examining the fan, I discovered that the motor used does NOT HAVE THIS FUNCTION – it simply lacks the oscillating mechanism. Depending on how the grille is fitted, this function should be included and a different motor should be used. To cover this up, the manufacturer the fan was supplied with the grille loose, so that it spun freely at high speed in the draught, rather than remaining stationary or rotating slowly by means of a special drive to direct the airflow; as a result, it fails to fulfil its protective function and has instead become a hazard in its own right. The product does not perform as it should, and was also supplied in a dangerous condition. If the owner is prepared to put up with the missing function, they should tighten the white centre of the grille so that it stops spinning and starts to fulfil its function.
After repairing the fan (tightening the plastic centre of the protective cover) (grilles), the fan is suitable for use.
