The backlight, I'm buying because everyone in the family has this one, so that they have the same one and use one manual etc.
I personally would not be comfortable with touch controls. A reader with buttons, even though they may be malfunctioning, is better for me to use, just like a push button phone, vs a touchpad. I just don't accidentally wrinkle anything.
The OS is not intuitive, some menus just don't make sense.
The reader creates index files that are many times the size of the books. You can somehow undo this by setting the file to read only, but for ignorant hackers I find it horrible when you have 500MB of books and a 6GB indexing file that isn't even needed, because even without it you can search the books.
