USB 3.0 connectors look the same on the outside and are fully compatible with USB 2.0, but they are actually different because they have more pins inside (which I think many people don't know). So if you want to have USB 3.0 USB on the front panel, this reducer won't help you with that, you have to physically replace/replace the USB connectors on the front panel.
