3.2 cable for usb-c only, 3.1 cable for everything else. But I finally got full-speed USB-C on an old box, and a fast card reader to boot. PS: it's 3.5", so if you are installing into 5.25", don't forget the reduction from akasa, and if you don't have a free 3.1 usb on the board so the expansion card card, the one from axagon works great.
