The measurement itself works great - the sensors are accurate, PM2.5, CO₂, VOC, temperature and humidity give reliable readings and the display is clear. The app is intuitive and allows you to view historical data and charts, so the average user is satisfied. But for me the device is practically useless for automation. Even though the device actually sends data to the cloud every 2.5 minutes or so, the API returns it consolidated, skipping some batches and creating gaps of up to 40 minutes. It is therefore useless for controlling the purifier and I have the device more as a decoration. In the end, I solved everything with a sensor that supports Matter and Thread and with it the automation works exactly as it should - without missing data and with a reliable interval. Overall: Airthings is fine for visual air quality monitoring and reporting, but if you're planning on automation, the cloud API just isn't enough.
