Croshatching is caused by the fact that the manufacturer decided to make every other pixel completely black when darker colours are used. this means that when you look at the grey taskbar etc. you see an awkward texture, the font is a bit choppy and the transitions on the straight glows are blocky. As a gaming monitor for a console where one watches content from 1.5 to 2m it's a good monitor, quite nice HDR, I haven't tried Freesync but as a technology super. However, if you want it as a work monitor that gives you a huge area for activity, forget it and start looking for something else.
