Once you get the hang of it, the controller is very difficult to use in the dark, purely by feel. You will almost certainly press a different button than you wanted to. The hardest part is finding the volume control this way!!
Cursor control and mouse cursor control on the computer are added to button control. The cursor only appears "after a while", I don't understand when, but it does things you don't want. I haven't found a way to intentionally turn it off yet, only if you put the controller down and let it lie still, after some (enough) seconds it will turn itself off.
