QNAP TS-h886-D1602-8G

QNAP TS-h886-D1602-8G
The QNAP TS-h886-D1602-8G NAS is designed for storing, backing up, and centrally managing data in both business and home environments. This system uses the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system for a high level of data integrity and protection against corruption. The device is powered by an Intel Xeon D-1602 processor, and the basic 8192MB of DDR4 memory can be expanded up to 131072MB. The tower design offers 8 bays for 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives, plus 2 bays for M.2 NVMe drives. The total storage capacity is up to 142.61TB.
Key features of the QNAP TS-h886-D1602-8G NAS
- ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system protects data integrity
- Dual-core Intel Xeon D-1602 processor runs at 3.2GHz
- 8192MB DDR4 ECC system memory, expandable to 131072MB
- Four 2.5Gb/s RJ-45 network ports for fast transfers
- Two M.2 NVMe PCIe slots for installing SSD cache
- Two third-generation PCIe slots for installing expansion cards
Powerful processor and configuration
At the heart of the system is a dual-core Intel Xeon D-1602 processor with a frequency of 3.2GHz. The DDR4 ECC system memory detects and corrects single-bit errors in real time. This prevents unexpected downtime and data loss during demanding computing operations. For faster data access, there are two dedicated bays for 2.5" SSD drives and two M.2 NVMe PCIe slots. These slots support an SSD cache configuration to increase IOPS performance. This technology reduces storage latency without occupying standard 3.5" bays, which is particularly helpful for running database systems.
Data reduction and virtualisation
The QuTS hero operating system uses advanced algorithms to reduce the volume of stored data. These include inline deduplication, compression, and block-level data compaction. These features reduce storage capacity requirements and increase overall write speeds. The system fully supports VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualisation platforms and has achieved Veeam Ready certification. The Virtualization Station and Container Station applications are used to run virtual machines and containers directly on the device. A virtual switch facilitates connectivity for managing network resources.
Reliable backup with the QNAP TS-h886
The Real-time SnapSync feature maintains identical data on both the primary and secondary storage. Data is written to both devices immediately to reduce the risk of information loss in the event of a disaster. The HBS tool unifies backup and synchronisation into a single, clear interface. In addition, support for snapshots with Copy-on-write technology makes it easy to quickly restore to a previous state.
Fast network connection
The device includes 4 RJ-45 network ports with a speed of 2.5Gb/s. These ports support port trunking and failover for transfer reliability. The fast connection simplifies file sharing within a team and reduces the time needed for backups. The internal power supply provides 250W of power, and there are 3 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports for connecting external devices.
