Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S

The NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S is a lens for Nikon digital mirrorless cameras whose 35mm focal length versatility gives you the opportunity to capture and communicate more. You can use the lens to capture a wide angle and the scene loses none of its intimacy, or alternatively, you can capture the subject up close for strong emotion. Thanks to the extremely large diameter Nikon Z bayonet, the NIKKOR Z can capture more light across the entire image field. In addition, the small distance between the bayonet and the image sensor significantly reduces light loss at the edges of the image field. The result is a high level of detail - right down to the edges of the image field. By minimising sagittal coma, first-class reproduction of point light sources (e.g. street lighting at night) can be achieved. Point light sources are thus displayed as uniform circular areas even at the edges of the image field.

Brilliant and smoother image

Two ED glass optical elements and three aspherical optical elements ensure sharp and brilliant images with rich colors and high contrast. Vignetting is minimized to ensure uniform brightness across the image field. Nikon Nano Crystal Coat anti-reflective layers suppress the appearance of reflections and veils, which enhances image brilliance even when shooting in backlight. The anti-reflective layers also show their perfect properties when shooting scenes with many direct light sources in the image field.

Smooth, noiseless, precise

Nikon's combined focusing system and multiple focusing motors ensure the lens has enough speed for when you need it. Autofocus is smooth and almost noiseless. The lens is thus perfectly suited not only for still images but also for video sequences. An electromagnetic lens hood ensures accurate exposures during fast continuous shooting.

NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S

Always sharp images, in any light

The high-speed, high-capacity data transfer between the lens and camera enables perfect distortion correction for incredibly sharp images - right down to the edges of the image field. Floating optical elements ensure precise focusing at short distances. The lens uses the vibration reduction built into the camera so you can shoot with shutter speeds up to 5 EV faster than would otherwise be possible. Capture more brilliant images in diminishing daylight and cinematic scenes without unwanted camera shake effects.

NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S

Simple control via command ring

The large knurled command ring allows for completely precise and intuitive operation. When shooting in AF mode, you can assign exposure correction control to the command ring. When shooting in manual focus mode, you can use the command ring as a focus ring. The speed of refocusing is proportional to the speed of rotation of the ring. This gives you perfect control over focus and makes it easier to capture cinematic shots at close distances. In addition, all moving parts of the lens barrel are sealed against dust and water droplets.

Perfect reproduction of out-of-focus areas (bokeh)

The lens's nine-lamellas circular aperture with f/1.8 aperture allows for natural, soft reproduction of out-of-focus areas. Point brightnesses are reproduced as fine circular areas. You can also achieve fine results with partial shading. The lens also allows you to record exceptional 4K video footage with a cinema-format image field and beautifully limited depth of field.

Nikon’s beginnings date back to 1917 in Japan. At first, the company mainly produced lenses - telescopes, binoculars, microscopes and other small, optical equipment. Soon the company expanded its portfolio, producing photographic lenses under the Nikkor brand.

In the field of cameras, particularly among professionals, Nikon quickly gained a reputation as a top manufacturer, which continues today. Its cameras were even included in the equipment of American spacecraft. Nikon designed and produced the legendary Nikon SP 1957, regarded by many as the best camera of all time.
