The Mikrotik wAP ax (wAPG-5HaxD2HaxD) is a dual-band outdoor WiFi access point that reliably covers demanding conditions. With the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard, it achieves a combined wireless speed of up to 2974Mb/s. A modern dual-core ARM processor and RouterOS v7 operating system provide the power for stable operation and VPN. The IP54-rated construction withstands weather conditions for outdoor installations and has been tested in temperatures from -40°C to 70°C. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports provide wired connectivity and power.

Wi-Fi 6 performance and dual-band operation
The device operates on the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard and transmits simultaneously in two frequency bands, 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 2×2 MIMO technology contributes to a stable connection for multiple clients. In the 5GHz band, the transfer speed reaches up to 2400Mb/s, and in the 2.4GHz band, it's up to 574Mb/s. This results in a combined wireless speed of 2974Mb/s, placing the device in the AX3000 category with sufficient throughput for data-intensive applications.
Advanced management with RouterOS v7 and CAPsMAN
At the heart of the access point is a dual-core 800MHz ARM processor, complemented by 256MB of RAM and 128MB of NAND storage. The device runs the RouterOS v7 operating system, which offers advanced networking features, including Router and Access point operating modes. For centralised management of multiple units, the Mikrotik CAPsMAN system enables unified configuration and monitoring from a single location via a web interface.
Security and roaming
Modern WPA3-PSK and WPA3-EAP encryption protects the wireless network and increases resistance against password cracking attempts. The system also supports the OWE (Opportunistic Wireless Encryption) standard for unauthenticated encryption on open networks. Management frame protection is also included. The seamless fast transition roaming (802.11r) feature ensures smooth handover of client devices between multiple access points, maintaining a continuous, stable connection.
Durable IP54 design with flexible power options
The thoughtful IP54-rated case design allows for wall or ceiling mounting and includes a special opening for concealed cable routing, maintaining a clean and secure look for both outdoor and indoor installations. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for wired connections. One of the ports supports PoE power via the 802.3af/at standard in the 18–57V range. A separate DC connector provides an alternative power option for 12–57V.
