Mikrotik FTC11XG

Mikrotik FTC11XG
The Mikrotik FTC11XG media converter converts an optical signal to a metallic interface in outdoor conditions. The device transforms an SFP+ optical connection with speeds of up to 10Gbps to an RJ45 metallic Ethernet port with the same transmission capacity. It features a durable, IP55-rated casing, which protects the internal components from adverse weather conditions, dust and splashing water. Its lightweight design and compact dimensions allow for easy installation in various types of outdoor and indoor environments on poles, walls or ceilings using the supplied K-81 mounting kit. The passive cooling system ensures silent operation in a temperature range of -40 to 70°C.

Key Features of the Mikrotik FTC11XG Media Converter
- The device has an IP55 rating for resistance to dust and splashing water
- The converter converts a 10-gigabit SFP+ optical interface to an RJ45 Ethernet
- The integrated SwitchOS Lite operating system allows for advanced management
- Two independent power inputs include a DC jack and active PoE-In
- Passive cooling ensures silent operation at temperatures from -40°C to 70°C
- One 10/100/1000 Ethernet port and one 1G/2.5G/5G/10G Ethernet port
- Network features include VLAN support and packet filtering via ACL

Advanced Management with the SwOS Lite Operating System
The device differs from standard converters by integrating its own 88E6193 switch-chip and the SwitchOS Lite operating system. This gives users access to full interface management and network monitoring via a web interface. The system allows for VLAN configuration, traffic monitoring and sending SNMP reports for central monitoring systems.

Traffic Filtering
Thanks to the integrated chip, the device supports advanced network functions directly at the physical conversion layer. It provides packet filtering using an Access Control List, which works based on conditions in the headers of Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4 protocols. Users can set rules for data flow control and basic rate limiting.

Flexible Power Options in the Field
The FTC11XG device offers two different power methods for easy integration into existing infrastructure. It can be powered using a standard DC jack with a voltage of 18–57V or active PoE-In of the 802.3 af/at/bt standard with a voltage range of 43–57V. Power consumption is between 9 and 10W, which contributes to the economical operation of the entire network node.
High Throughput and Low Latency
The hardware configuration handles a non-blocking switching capacity on the second layer of up to 40Gbps. The device processes 1,518-byte data packets at a speed of 1,625.5 kpps in full-duplex operation. The converter is supplied with a pre-installed operating system licence that requires no additional separate fees for full operation.
