The Grandstream GWN7624 WiFi Access Point is an indoor, dual-band unit designed for discreet wall mounting in environments such as offices, hotels, or university lecture halls. It supports the Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) standard and provides a combined wireless throughput of up to 2030Mbps. This performance is split between the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands, allowing it to handle over 200 concurrently connected devices. In addition to its wireless performance, it also offers advanced wired connectivity with four gigabit ports. One of these serves as an uplink with PoE/PoE+ support, and two other ports feature PSE functionality to power other devices. You can manage it flexibly via the cloud, a mobile app, or a local controller.

High network speed and capacity
This dual-band WiFi Access Point operates on the Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) standard and maintains backward compatibility with older 802.11a/b/g/n norms. For efficient data transfer to multiple devices simultaneously, it uses 4×4:4 MU-MIMO technology on the 5GHz band and 2×2:2 MIMO on the 2.4GHz band. The combined theoretical throughput reaches 2030Mbps. The internal antenna system, consisting of two dual-band and two dedicated 5GHz antennas, ensures reliable signal coverage over an area of up to 175m. The manufacturer has designed the access point for high-density client environments, and it can handle over 200 active devices at once.
Advanced security
Wireless network protection is ensured by support for modern encryption standards, including WPA3 and WPA2-Enterprise with TKIP/AES. Hardware-level security is enhanced by the anti-hacking secure boot function, which checks the firmware integrity at every start-up and prevents unauthorised code from being loaded. Additionally, each unit protects digital signatures to lock down critical data and controls. To increase initial network security, each device has a unique certificate and a random default password, eliminating the risk associated with using universal manufacturer passwords.
Flexible management and centralised supervision
You can manage the access point in several ways, depending on the size and requirements of your network. The integrated controller lets you configure and manage up to 30 local GWN access points directly from the web interface of one of the devices. For managing large networks across multiple locations, the GDMS Networking cloud platform has no limits on the number of managed devices. A local GWN Manager software controller is also available for deployment within your own infrastructure. The GWN Cloud mobile app ensures quick setup and on-the-go monitoring.
Connectivity
The device includes a total of four gigabit ethernet ports. The first port serves as an uplink for connecting to the network infrastructure and also supports powering the access point itself via PoE 802.3af or PoE+ 802.3at. Two other gigabit ports include a PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) function, which enables you to power other connected devices, such as IP phones or cameras, with a power output of up to 6W per port. The fourth port is a standard gigabit port for connecting an end device. The total maximum power consumption of the access point is 25W.
