Grain in the Wind

The sculptor Alexander's daughter enjoys all the advantages of a liberal upbringing in the French countryside. Freedom, no responsibilities and the love of her father, who adores her above all else. The only constraint in this beautiful life is her mother, who tries to maintain at least a little order and discipline at home. This almost idyllic life is struck by a tragedy that marks not only the girl's life but also the fate of everyone around her.
The book was translated by Dr. Fedor Jesenský and published in 1945 by the Živena publishing house. The text has been digitised from the original edition and has undergone minimal stylistic and grammatical adjustments.
