Acer X1328

The Acer X1328 projector uses DLP display technology and offers a native widescreen resolution of 1280×800 WXGA. This WXGA DLP projector provides a detailed and sharp image for both presentations and multimedia content. Its key feature is a light source with an output of 5000 ANSI lumens in standard mode, which drops to 4000 ANSI lumens in ECO mode. This high brightness makes it suitable for use in a lit room, ensuring content remains legible even without complete darkness. The device is complemented by a high contrast ratio of 20,000:1, which delivers clearly defined details in both dark and bright scenes.

Acer colourBoost3D technology ensures faithful and vibrant colour reproduction. The Acer LumiSense system analyses the projected content frame by frame and dynamically adjusts the brightness and colour saturation for optimal viewing. Acer colourSafe II technology maintains colour consistency over time. The projector also supports 3D projection, with compatibility for DLP 3D Ready and HDMI 3D Ready formats, including 144Hz 24p 3D content playback for a smooth experience.

Projection and installation

This device is a Short Throw projector. It can project a large image even from a short distance from the screen, specifically from 1m to 11.8m. The image screen size can be adjusted from 68.6cm (27") up to 762cm (300"). The installation process is simplified by automatic vertical keystone correction, which straightens the image itself when projecting at an angle. For fine-tuning, there is a 1.1× optical zoom and manual focus. The projector offers flexible placement options, including ceiling mounting or placement on a table for both front and rear projection.

Light source and operating features

The light source is a 240W lamp that provides a lifespan of 5000 hours in standard mode. Activating the ECO mode reduces power consumption from 275W to 205W. This mode not only lowers energy use but also extends the lamp life and reduces operating costs. The projector also includes basic sound, which is handled by a single built-in 3W speaker. This is sufficient for smaller rooms or for voiceovers in presentations without needing to connect an external sound system.

Connectivity options

The projector offers several digital and analogue ports for connecting source devices. The foundation consists of two HDMI 1.4b connectors with HDCP 1.4 content protection support, used for connecting modern computers, laptops, or players. For compatibility with older equipment, a VGA input and also a VGA output are available for connecting an additional monitor or for a pass-through signal. Analogue video sources can be connected via the composite RCA input. Audio connectivity is provided by a 3.5mm audio input and output. A USB Type-A port provides 5V/1A power for external devices, such as wireless adapters.

Native resolution vs. maximum resolution

Native resolution determines the actual number of physical pixels on the projector's imaging chip and defines the real sharpness of the image. In contrast, maximum resolution only indicates the highest signal the projector can receive and convert (downscale) to its native resolution. For a high-quality picture, the native resolution is always the key factor.
