Monitor with 4th Generation OLED and Primary RGB Tandem Technology
The LG UltraGear 27GX790B-B gaming monitor uses 4th generation OLED with Primary RGB Tandem technology. The four-layer RGB structure allows for a peak brightness of up to 1,500 nits, while also contributing to high contrast and detailed display. The monitor offers a QHD resolution of 2560 × 1440px, which is a suitable compromise between the amount of detail and a high refresh rate.
- UL Verified Perfect Black – verified black reproduction in various lighting conditions
- UL Verified Colour – accurate colour reproduction even in changing ambient light
- VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 – detailed display of dark scenes and deep blacks
VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500
The VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 standard supports detailed rendering of black even in the darkest scenes. The 99.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut then allows for a wide range of colours to be displayed and subtle colour gradations to be maintained.
Technology for a More Comfortable Viewing Experience
The monitor is equipped with UL-verified LG UltraGear eye-comfort technologies. These help to reduce screen flicker and uncomfortable glare, contributing to a more comfortable viewing experience. The features are complemented by Flicker-Free and Discomfort Glare-Free UL certifications.
Dual-Mode up to 720Hz for Fast Gaming
With the VESA Certified Dual-Mode feature, you can switch between QHD resolution at a 540Hz refresh rate and HD mode at a frequency of up to 720Hz. QHD mode offers more detail, while HD at 720Hz allows you to take advantage of the monitor's maximum refresh rate for fast, competitive gaming. The mode can be changed via the On-Screen Display menu or the LG Switch application.
DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 for High Refresh Rates
DisplayPort 2.1 offers sufficient bandwidth to take advantage of the monitor's high refresh rates. USB-C allows for both video and data transfer via a single cable. There are also two HDMI 2.1 ports for connecting game consoles and computers.
0.02ms GtG Response Time for Fast Reactions
The OLED panel achieves a response time of just 0.02ms GtG, which helps reduce ghosting and maintain cleaner outlines on fast-moving objects. This makes dynamic gaming scenes appear sharper and allows the monitor to react promptly to rapid image changes.
AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC
This gaming monitor with a 0.02ms response time supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible technologies, and also boasts VESA AdaptiveSync certification. These technologies help to synchronise the monitor's refresh rate with the graphics card, reducing screen tearing during gameplay.
VESA ClearMR 21000 for Reduced Blur
VESA ClearMR 21000 certification focuses on the level of motion blur. It helps to maintain a sharper image during fast-paced scenes and makes it easier to discern details during movement.
Gaming Features for Faster Reactions
The gaming monitor is equipped with features that make it easier to get your bearings in-game and help you react faster to on-screen action:
- Dynamic Action Sync – helps reduce input lag during gameplay
- Black Stabilizer – improves visibility of details in dark scenes
- Crosshair – displays a target point in the centre of the screen
LG Switch
The LG Switch application is used to quickly customise the monitor for both gaming and everyday use. It allows you to adjust image and brightness settings or switch between preset modes using a keyboard shortcut. The desktop can be divided into up to 11 different layouts, and the application also allows for the quick launch of a video call platform.
Ergonomic Stand and Borderless Design of the LG UltraGear 27GX790B-B

Colour Gamut
Specifies how accurately the monitor can display colours. sRGB is ideal for the web, films, or games. DCI-P3/Adobe RGB will be appreciated by graphic designers or professionals at work. The higher the value, the better the monitor displays colours.
Maximum Brightness
The value, given in nits or cd/m², determines the brightness of the monitor. A brightness of over 400 nits is key for HDR content and readability in sunlight, while standard office monitors are fine with values over 250.
Refresh Rate and Response Time
The refresh rate (Hz) determines the number of frames displayed per second, so the higher the value, the smoother the picture and the less eye strain. A lower response time (ms) eliminates motion blur. 144Hz+ is ideal for gaming, while values around 75Hz are suitable for office monitors.Specifications
