The Thomson 24HG2S15CW television with a 24" Direct LED panel and HD Ready resolution integrates the Google TV operating system. The included 12V adapter powers the TV in caravans, on boats or in cabins while maintaining access to apps and online content. The operating system unifies offerings from your subscription services on a single screen and suggests personalised recommendations. The remote control with backlit buttons simplifies searching for films and series in low light and also includes voice control via Google Assistant; voice input replaces typing on the virtual keyboard. The built-in Chromecast function is used for wirelessly streaming content from mobile phones, tablets or computers with the Chrome browser.

Picture parameters

The 61cm (24") panel displays content in HD Ready 1366×768 resolution. Direct LED backlighting technology distributes diodes across the entire screen area, creating uniform brightness without lighter spots at the edges. The screen has a native refresh rate of 50/60Hz for smooth viewing of TV broadcasts, films and series. User, Standard, Vivid, Sport, Film, Game and Energy Saving modes are available. Each one automatically adjusts parameters like brightness, contrast and colour saturation to match the specific requirements of the genre.

Sound system

Sound is handled by a pair of speakers with a total output of 6W, suitable for small rooms, cabins or the interior of a caravan. An integrated equaliser and balance function help you adjust the sound output to your personal preferences. It processes Dolby Audio and DTS Digital Surround sound formats. Dolby Audio technology improves dialogue clarity and sound purity. The automatic volume control function evens out sudden changes in sound level, typically between programmes and commercial breaks. This limits audio jumps and maintains a consistent listening level.

Google TV operating system

The Google TV system brings together content from various streaming services on one clear home screen. It provides tailored recommendations based on your viewing history and subscriptions. Through the Google Play store, you get access to apps like Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ or local services such as OnePlay and Prima+. The system supports the creation of multiple user profiles, so each member of the household gets their own personalised content.

Basic game mode

For casual gaming, the television includes a game mode that adjusts picture settings to reduce input lag – the delay between pressing a button on the controller and the action on screen. When you connect a game console or computer via HDMI, the screen switches to a mode with a faster response time by limiting some picture processing. The 60Hz panel can handle less demanding game titles and works for gaming on platforms like PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch.

TV connectivity

The TV has three HDMI 1.4 ports for connecting external devices, one of which supports ARC for returning audio to a soundbar. There are two USB 2.0 ports for playing media from flash drives. You can connect to the internet via the Ethernet LAN port for a stable connection. The features are rounded off with an optical digital audio output and a CI+ slot for pay TV decoding modules. It connects to the internet using dual-band Wi-Fi, which operates on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. You can use the 5GHz band for streaming content with higher demands on speed and stability. For wirelessly connecting accessories such as headphones, speakers or game controllers, it uses Bluetooth version 5.1.

TV design

The three-sided frameless design directs your attention to the displayed content. Its compact dimensions of 535×318×75mm without the stand and low weight of 2.4kg make the TV easy to handle. Stability on surfaces is provided by two feet with adjustable spacing, which is handy for installation in confined spaces. You can choose between a wider 500mm option or a narrower 300mm option for placement on very narrow cabinets and shelves. For wall mounting, the television is compatible with the VESA 100×100mm standard.

Energy consumption

In standard dynamic range (SDR) mode, the device is in energy class E with a consumption of 18kWh per 1000 hours of operation. In standby mode, power consumption is 0.5W. The TV works with a standard mains voltage of 100–240V and also includes a special adapter for a 12V power supply, optimised for mobile use.
